Around 6 weeks ago we discovered that we had rats in our furnace room. After laying a couple traps it became apparent within a week or so that we had a bigger problem on our hands. We contacted a pest control company who sent out a technician a couple days later. The technician did an inspection of the area and laid a couple traps in the ceiling and on the floor of the basement. He then told us that the rats were most likely coming in around the basement window and to repair that area. He said to call back in a month and they would do a follow up. This was all wrong! After two days the problem was worse and the three traps he laid were ineffective to stop the problem. We then called Peter at Propest/Pest Secure. Peter came by the following morning and within minutes of doing a very thorough inspection he found an old pipe that the has been buried in the furnace room. This was the source of the rat infestation. Straight from the sewer! Peter capped the pipe, laid some traps and within a couple of days the problem was solved. Peter also attended everyday to remove the dead rats caught in the traps and inspected to ensure the pipe was indeed the entry point. We have not had a problem since and Peter came by for a final inspection to ensure everything was fine. Peter is a true professional and the level of customer service was outstanding. If you have a rat problem you know how unnerving it is and how quickly it can get out of control. I can only imagine what would have happened had we not contacted Peter. He knew immediately the source of the problem and how to stop the rats from continuing to get into the furnace room. This could have easily been a much, much larger problem. In our wildest dreams we never would have thought that we would experience a rat problem in our neighbourhood let alone our own house. But it happens and when it does it need to be addressed quickly and correctly. Propest/Peat Secure and Peter literally stopped what have been a total infestation and saved us from having to move out of our house while it was being dealt with. He solved the problem and got our household back to normal very quickly. We cannot express how good Propest is and we truly thank Peter for what he did for us.
